8800 GS colours are all wrong

Hi! I jsut bougth XFX 8800GS 580M 384MB. I installed it as per the intructions. When I switched on my system. All the BIOS screens had blue font instead of white. Vista loading screen and then inside vista, the colours are all wrong. I can only see a few colours, yellow, blue and orange and their shades.

I thought it was a driver issue. I tried installing the driver with the given CD but it said that you dont have an XFX device on ur system. I then downloaded the driver from XFX site and it installed. After instalation, though, vista said that it wasnt installed properly. I restarted anyways. And still I cant see any colours properly.

Btw, I am using 6pin-4pin power converter (have only connected one power cord) and also a digital to analog converter for my LCD

my system:
LG 19" LCD: L1953S
Pentium 4 3.0Ghz HT
ASUS P5LD2-Vm mobo

guys any idea why am i not getting the correct colours and why the screen is always blue saturtated? thanks

btww .. i have used an 8400gs before on this pci slot and it worked fine. with the same monitor.

could it be a monitor thing? or maybe the dvi to analog conversion?

Problem Resolved. I had only connected one of the 2 4 pin adapters to the 4-6pin converter :S:S:S:S ... i just connected both and it is working fine now.


I just hope it did not have a negative effect on the card
