8800 drivers for XP

WaTaGuMp

I found these today and have been testing them a bit, today I was getting BSOD trying to watch videos and have been crashing in WoW also with previous drivers. I was using the 97.92 and after installing these 97.95 videos worked instantly and not a single crash in WoW for about 20 minutes of flying around in areas I had crash issues, so give them a shot if you can and give some feedback.

I've not tried these drivers but I do find 100.87 work much better than 97.92.

They've fixed a lot of issues and since I've been using them I haven't had any random system crashes like 97.92 sometimes caused.

Played WoW all day spent ALOT of time in terokkar and didnt get one single crash all day, since WoW is all I play right now thats the only test bed I have. It is also then one fix I really needed, I am not sure why my videos started crashing today all of a sudden using the 97.92 but doesnt matter since these drivers fixed both. I gave this link out on the blizz forums and another person said it fixed the crashes for him also.

I think that's the latest "official" WHQL driver release while all of the 100.xx drivers I've seen are still beta.

I upgraded from 97.92 yesterday because I was experiencing trouble with a LOT of games. Far Cry would freeze while F.E.A.R. and Condemned would kick me back to the desktop with various errors. I went with the 100.87 driver and (knock on wood) F.E.A.R. hasn't given me any trouble since. Far Cry still hoses on me, but instead of locking up it will just terminate instantly and drop me back at the desktop without any errors. I'm running the 1.4 patch. Anyone else having this problem? I'm sort of hesitant to try the 100.95 release until I can confirm that they're better than the 100.87s.

Something to do with Bird Man Camps and multisampling.

If I "turned off" multisampling it didn't happen but if it was on, the client would crash when looking at the camp at certain distances/angles.

Am VERY glad to hear about this fix though.

I'm running the 100.95s right now. I've only had the card for about 3 days, so its hard to judge. No problems so far, but I've only been playing Dark Messiah.

Where do u get thr 100.xx series drivers for xp? Only ones on the nvidia site i can find are the 97.92 and the really old 93.81 in the beta area... the rest are for vista =(. I do run vista ultimate 64bit on a seperate partition but i still mainly game on xp since its what they are all installed to still.

*edit nvm found em on station-drivers.com 😀.

You can get the 100 series drivers at Guru3D. Have to install them the old fashioned way though, since apparently the setup.exe is broken. Not a big deal, though.

Thats what people have said but for me it didnt do squat, I tried all the settings fixes I read about and nothing helped. I look at it this way a 650 dollar card shouldnt have to do lame fixes like reduce settings just to run a game. The thing that made me jump on these drivers was the fact it mentions the specific crash error that people get and I am glad I did cause they worked 100% yesterday in WoW.

play wow for hours on the 97.92s. In fact I have played all the games meantioned above at max settings. I don't have a single problem.
Wondering if you have a hardware problem with the card itself.

Nah its a driver issue, both nvidia and blizzard are aware of it and working on a fix, so they say lol.
