My go-to under a buck lunch is veggie wrap(s), with large tortillas being $2 or less for a pack of 10. Baby spinach, sliced onions, shredded carrots, diced tomatoes and peppers, and drizzled BBQ sauce or vinaigrette (or spoon of hummus) ... plus a myriad of other veggie and condiment combinations, depending on what's on hand. Cheap, quick to make, filling, tasty, and healthy.

KD and the mac and cheese I linked above... My ass does not like that stuff. It's in and hour in about 8 hours flat. But I love the taste and it's cheap so I indulge every once in a while now with full knowledge of the pain it will cause.

They've been shrinking, and getting fewer toppings. Not really a great deal, but they taste ok.

My main entree tomorrow for lunch will be ~50¢. Half a can of black beans, mashed with jarred minced garlic, with cilantro and hot sauce on tortilla chips.
