865PE Recommendations?

First time building a system, and looking at a 2.8C P4 with the new Geil Golden Dragon GD3200DC memory.

I'm a bit overwhelmed trying to read through all the reviews and the stickied posts on the different 865PE boards.

Was hoping for some recommended suggestions on which motherboard to go with.

Criteria:
1. Would like LAN on board, Gigabit not needed
2. 1394 header(s) a plus, current case has 2 up front - hoping to get a digital camcorder in the near future.
3. SATA (non-raid) a must, buying a single SATA HD to boot from.
4. On-board sound is ok, although I am unclear if the on-board sound is as good as the SB Live 5.1 I have currently (any CPU hit with onboard?)
5. I may do some minor overclocking, heard the 2.8's were easy to get to 3.0 with basic cooling.

Any advice you could give to a newbie system builder is greatly appreciated!

My recomendation is to wait a couple of weeks and see if any of the bugs (memory specifically) are worked out. Most of the onboard sound is pretty good now if you are just gaming and listening to music.

The Intel Pearl I865PE MB fits that desciption to a T.........I just got it and it has everything you listed its about $140....and has a black PCB layout.........only thing is its not very Overclockable......meaning the Bios doesn't allow you to O/C much....remember its an Intel MB so its more stable than anything......

Abit IS7 is a good overclocker and the Ablatron PX865PEV Pro II is excellent too
