8600M GT questions

I just bought a Dell Inspiron 1520 and I am reading some bad things about 8600M GT. People are saying it won't be able to handle some DX10 games. Is this true? Is it really that bad?

Except for the fact that 8600GT supports DX10, the performance of the card didn't improved much compared to last generation's DX9 cards . Therefore, most people will trying to wait for the 2nd generation of the DX10 cards.
