well I got in on the WOOT 7900GS deal last year and its dieing on me (massive artifacting) and going to be sending it back using the warrenty on it and will be getting 140 back. I can add about 30-40bucks to the money I get back for something else.

Was thinkin about getting in on that MSI passive 8600GTS deal I saw here

I know i'll lose some performance in some palces but the video decoding and the dx10 support is also a plus. also I have a feeling this card will use less power than my previous one anyway and be much quieter.

Thinkin about getting this or waiting a few days to see if the x2600 is going to be any good from ati

you can return it to woot?

hehe yeah it was kinda a unique deal. Woot was accused of selling stolen merchandise so the manufacture canceld the warrenty on the cards. Woot as a gesture to show they were on the up and up added a 2 year warrenty to the cards backed by them

Do you have a link where it mentions the 2 year warranty? They're just gonna give you $140 back after nearly a year?

The X2600 seems to suffer from poor drivers and is believed to be a shoddy card, judging by most of the reviews. But the 8600GTS isn't exactly the stellar performer either, since it's performance in DirectX 9 games is downright crappy compared to the X1950PRO, which it was supposed to beat, being a next-gen card and whatnot. The X1950PRO is a better card though but DirectX 10 performance is still unseen. For now, the X1950PRO wins.

yes I agree, x1950 pro is the king for non-DX10 stuff, who knows about DX10 games, maybe not even be that much faster on the new cards.
