I built a new computer with:
2GB 533 Ram
E6600
and a 8600GT XFX XXX

3dmark03= 17004... Is that good? Is that bad? I don't know.

Oh and I'm running my monitor ( a 20" widescreen ) at 1024X768 since I used the free version and it didn't give me any other choice.

And comments? etc? I still don't know how to look at my GPU temps tho.....help?

Thanks,

Mark

^ ^ sorry I should have been more clear. I was asking for any link to some trouble shooting software concerning monitors flickering but I mistakenly was in the process of cutting and pasting and must have typed over it.

My monitor seems to be getting better...? >_< I'm not sure. My screen now flickers as though the refresh isn't high enough but if it put the background to black I can't see it. The flickering is quite annoying.....>_<

EDIT: The monitor still flickers for the first 1/2 an hour to an hour and then becomes good looking again>_< RMA? Newegg emailed me prepaid shipping. (they are the best^ ^:)

I just figured out that it helps to put a solid black background and then leave it there for a while and then change to a normal background... RMA ftw i'm thinkin

really!?? ( just so you know my last computer was a 800MHz processor with integrated graphics....and 300MB of recognizable ram:\ so I don't know whats good and whats bad)

I was just conserned since that one cpu test made my fps go to like 1 or 0! and on most of those i got really low fps...:\ any explanation? I'm kinda lost

Thanks for letting me know that my computer is workin^ ^ lol.

I've got everything at stock. The GPU is the XFX XXX model so its clocked at 620(factory OC).... although I don't know if it is or not since I don't know how to check out the clock speed specs on here through like sandra, etc....:\ or the GPU temp...

O and the thing that made me worry was the rank thing saying that I was like 580,000place....

Don't worry about the CPU Test. It's multi-core aware and the highest FPS I've ever seen with my quad-core is 5 FPS in CPU Test 2, for like 0.5 secs. With a dual-core, 0~1 FPS for CPU Test 1 and 0~3 FPS for CPU Test 2 are typical.

ooo sweet:) Thanks for the info:)!!

what do you think I should do with my monitor situation...:???

Monitor Problems....

If you could give my any feed back on that I'd be greatful. I just don't to have newegg saying that there's nothing wrong with the monitor.

Oh, and so there isn't really any programs to check out a person's GPU temp, fan speed, GPU speed?

Thanks a ton,

Mark

Does your monitor have a DVI connector (white) and you're using it, or are you using an adapter to connect to your monitor's analog (blue) connector?

here are the two things I bought :

GPU:

^ XFX Geforce 8600GT XXX 600M 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express Video Card w/Dual DVI

monitor:

Acer AL2051W Black/Silver 20" 8ms DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 800:1

I'm using the DVI to DVI connection, no adapter. I updated my XFX drivers completely so that shouldn't be the problem.

I'm glad I'm sticking with my X1950pro for a while....I get 17631 in 03 and 10739 in 05 and 5270 in 06 running my CPU at 2.66ghz.

I'm pretty sure Apoppin could back up these scores as his rig is almost identical to mine.

Why do ppl freak out about low fps on the CPU benchmarks? Is it any surprise that without GPU-support, the CPU produces low fps in graphics benches? It even tells you this in the Futuremark help files.

Well, without knowing anything beforehand, the CPU Tests in PCMark06 could look strange. There is no reason to ''. I have never looked Help files in 3DMarks, either and I've been using them for years. ;)

You can use the followings.

Thanks for the info!!!:D I'm going to be RMAing my widescreen monitor:\ I thought it had fixed itself... no it hasn't, it just was on the stoke of luck. It still does that horrible hazy, white dot thing :

Sorry for all the pictures but I just wanted to show you it in detail. Although.... my laziness on the holding the camera still kinda hurt the quality of the pics.
