Amazon.com $27 -$5MIR = $22. Link The 86% is a joke, as nobody (hopefully) would pay $164 for this. Rebate good through 2/28/05. FYI, this is $26.94 shipped at newegg, but no MIR. However, they have a Kingston one for $26.81 - $10MIR = $16.81 shipped, although i can't speak on the quality (or lack of it) for Kingston thumb drives.

Yes, Its a referral link. Amazon credits nosim. Its a shame, people try to make money like this. Some people really gotta get a job. Using Amazon.com's developer package doesn't count.

My 64MB Kingston drive (identical design) has been solid. A little bulky compared to others as it will not fit directly into some recessed ports but it's still a good drive. I just ordered the 256 one from buy.com for about the same price as newegg.

The only problem with the KUSBDTI/256 Kingston 256MB drive is that it is really USB 1.1 in terms of speed. I wish they would have been more descriptive with it and not employ confusion on how they represent their drives. It took me a review and a couple of .pdf Kingston files to make sure of this but it definitley is. It just can works on the USB 2.0 interface at the USB 1.1 speeds. But for $17 this completley makes sense so I'm not worried about it. I just hate having to explain this as it should be made clear. But how much real time access do you need 50MB/s anyway? If it was like a 1GB+ drive I may be concerned but that's just me.

I misread the speed differences... 1.5MB/s on USB 1.1 and 60MB/s on USB 2.0. That may warrant an extra 15 dollars or so for a faster one.
