When comparing these two chipsets, what are the real differences between them? I would like to know if the 875 premium is worth it for a SFF (shuttle) computer (games and graphics).

thanks

875p uses a 800mhz bus and the 865pe uses a 533mhz bus(not da processor).but no use buying a 875 p. an 865pe peforms equally and sometimes also beats the 875p.go for the msi 865pe neo2.good board

Ok. Thanks. I am looking at the Shuttle barebones kits and there is a $100 difference between the 875p option and the 865.

If you are not going to overclock your FSB, then go with the i865pe chipset.

865PE does support 800MHz FSB.

Main differences are the 875 supports ECC and officially supports PAT. Most 865PE motherboards hacked PAT to make it work.

This is true but the "hacked" PAT is disabled if overclocking on the 865 PE motherboards.
