8500LE & Photoshop, want to hook up two CRTs to it...what do I need?

I would like to use two monitors when using Photoshop. Can I do this with the ATI 8500LE 64 card? I looked at a picture of the card and the two monitor connectors are different types, I "assume" I just need an adapter to make the second one a VGA type, is that right?

Also, do I need to do anything special in the OS (or Photoshop) to be able to use both monitors? I'm currently running WIn98se, but I may upgrade to XP if this is necessary.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge!!!!

If the card you're looking at has one vga out for a crt, and a dvi out, you would need an adapter for dvi to vga. The os shouldn't cause any problems.

If the manufacterer didn't omit the external secondary RAMDAC, many 8500le cards won't support a CRT off the DVI port (DVI-D in this case).

In looking into the 8500le further, I see several manufacturers don't support that. I guess I'll have to look into another card for dual monitor support. I was hoping the 8500le would work, since I've seen some good comments about it concerning gaming also. Any other recommendations or a particular 8500le manufacturer that does.

Continuing to search and learn.....

Thanks for the help so far!!!

The Radeon 9xxx cards have both RAMDAC internal, so you know if it has 2 monitor connectors...it supports dual monitors.
