8500le or 9250 better?

I'm not positive on the 9250 being compatible with 2x AGP. From recollection, the 9000/9500/9700 series was the last of the 2x-compatible AGP cards from ATI. So, if my memory serves, I'd be looking in the used 9700 market.

Edit: Oooops, ATI says 9250 is compatible.

Could be, but at least one card in the 9200/9600/9800 line up was not 2x. May have been the 9600 since that had a new core vs. the refined cores of the other cards.

ti4200 is fastest. 8500 supports ps 1.4 instead of 1.1 making it dx 8.1(ti4200 is dx 8.0).
make your pick.

The 8500LE is at least 30% better, which isn't a huge difference, since the 9250 is so very puny overall. I didn't compare the higher-priced 128 Bit 9250, and have no idea if it's significantly better, or if it merely offers another excuse for advertising hype!
