8500LE, Macrovision & TV out....

aircooled

I do not have a stand alone DVD player (yet, xmas maybe;-)). So I use my PC/DVD.

When playing a DVD from my PC / 8500LE using TV out and an Svideo cable to my TV I'm getting macrovision (washed out color and flicker) even going directly to a TV or LCD projector. It looks fine on the computer monitor.

Is there any way around this?

Macrovision protection exhibits itself as darkening of the picture. It should not be occuring on a display-only device. I have seen it when my 8500 outputs DVD to a VCR and the way around it is to use the player from videolan.org

The file JeremiahTheGreat linked to was for disabling Macrovision on a Radeon's input.
