8500 wildly unstable on soyo kt400?

Hey - my friend has been having problems with his 8500 on his kt400 - he has never been able to get it to work. It always crashed within minutes in any 3d game...though 2d is fine

now the even weirder part is that he borrowed a person's 9600pro and it has NONE of those problems and he had a 6 hour frag session

now the even weirder part is that the 8500 works just fine in other computers...

Would more info be needed or not to trouble shoot this -if so holler @ me

make sure he has the latest 4 in 1 drivers, make sure their are no driver fragments from previous cards, disable all extra crap in bios, make sure FSB is not o/c

Yes that makes sense, make sure that for the 8500 it is set to 4x (maximum supported) and for the 9600 have it set to 8x. This might be your problem.

And the phrase "wildly unstable" is kind of cool acutually. 🙂
