How much difference is there between the retail and the oem version?
I mean performance and some technical specs, also, the benchmarkers like anand are using the oem or the retail?

but they have the same speed of RAM so it seems like it was just an arbitrary decision on the part of ati. The OEM part also doesn't come with the truform inhanced versions of counterstrike, halflife and team fortress.

<< So how many FPS does one vs the other? >>

Hard to say. The Kyro II going from 175/175 to 200/200 can get around 15fps more.

But, you can just OC the OEM version to the Retail specs and they'll be identical

what he means is that as far as we know, the OEM is simply a downclocked (or underclocked) version of the Retail. as with all OEM cards, you can expect it to come with nearly nothing besides the card and drivers.

From rage3d.com:

<< Radeon 8500 OEM: 250Mhz Core, 250Mhz Memory, Does not incude games or dvi to vga adaptor
Radeon 8500 Retail: 275Mhz Core, 275Mhz Memory, Includes games on a seperate game CD, includes other cables etc.

I know an ATi representative had said that at the time of his writing that OEM's would be 275Mhz, but that decision was obviously changed for whatever reason.

The cards shipping from Dell are retail boxes.

can anyone confirm that the oem has the same type of ram as the retail? i'm thinking about just getting it from newegg b/c their offering free shipping so the card comes out to 214 shipped. don't even know when dell will send the card.
