Hmm...just installed my new Radeon 8500, now my refresh rate is stuck at 60hz in win2k...i thought this problem only existed with Nvidia based cards...guess not lol...anyone have any idea how to fix this...i tryed to use Powerstrip and force it to be at 75 hz, but when i play games that are at a different resolution, it crashes the app....hmm....

Did you switch to a new video card in an old rig... or is your rig completely new from the ground up? You do a complete reformat and reinstall? Getting the det-destroyer and going through the registry to clean things up isn't sufficient. There's always something left behind to cause a conflict.

Most people have very few problems with their 8500 installation if they reformat/reinstall. Video card is a pretty major component. I'm running XP Pro and have not had a refresh rate issue.

If you have an older monitor, that can cause problems as well. 8500 can't hook up to synch refresh rates... doesn't sense the monitor.
