Just got a new ti4200 (got it to 305/610 btw) but my fps is stuck at 85 in cs? I have changed the max fps to 0 which Is unlimited I would think but still no go? This was the same with my old geforce 2 pro. Any ideas?

You can go into your Display Properties in Windows and set a higher refresh rate if your monitor can handle it. But you don't really need to.... it's 85fps

Sounds like VSync to me. If VSync is turned on, then your frame rate is capped at whatever your refresh rate is. And CS has that max_fps tag too.

it is not vsync or a refresh rate problem, all halflife mods default the max fps to 85fps so it will never go above, to remedy this, simply pull up the console and type fps_max 100 also note that the halflife engine caps the frame rates at 99fps so you will never see it go above 99fps even with the best hardware in the world, heck even setting fps_max over 100 won't get you over 99fps

I'm pretty sure the default fps for CS is 72.
