'85 Audi 5000s - Fuel system issues part deux

Old thread

OK, so I have finally gotten around to working on this project some more, and I obviously have more work to do. This morning I changed out the fuel filter and fuel distributor and still no joy. Tomorrow morning I will see about pulling injectors to see if I am getting fuel to the combustion chamber or not, but I wanted to go ahead and post here in case someone might have some other suggestions for things to check.

To recap:

  • 1985 Audi 5000s sat parked for a few years
  • new fuel pump, fuel filter, relay and fuel distributor
  • gas tank removed, vatted and sealed
  • injectors removed, cleaned, reinstalled with new seals
  • fuel lines blown out with compressor
  • fuel gets to engine compartment/cold start valve
  • prior to today, no fuel to injectors - need to see if todays work changed that

Suggestions? Will be cross-posting to AudiWorld forums as well, but figure more eyes are a good thing.

Are you sure you have spark at all? Will the engine fire by spraying carb cleaner into the throttle body?

It's fuel injected. What engine is it? The I5 or the I4?

I know. This will still work. 🙂 If there is spark the engine should turn over (although not smoothly).
