Hello,

What do you think is the better choice for a 845E/G Board ?

The Samsung 256 PC2700 2.5 was tested very well, but can 2 ram-modules perform also as fast as 1 (the same ramspeed) ? I heard its better to go with one module. On the other hand i don´t know if the Samsung 512MB PC2700 has the same quality as the 256 module regarding to best overclock results.

Opinions ? :)

Thanks in advance,
switek

For the most part one single sided DIMM will perform the best. If you can't get a single sided 512meg DIMM, one double sided or 2 single sided DIMMs are effectively the same as far as the chipset is concerned. Usually one 512 DIMM is less expensive than 2 256 sticks though.

As long as two modules are exactly identical down to the chips that make them, two banks (either 1 double-sided or two sigle-sided) will s l i g h t l y outperform one bank under DDR. But if you are not sure about what you're getting(such as when the chips are hidden under heat spreaders) or if you buy two modules from two different sources or at different points in time, then one bank will probably perform better than two. Your memory upgrade plans should not be ignored when having to decide between one or two banks.

Peace.
