i have a 8irx and when i tried to install XP i got a your mobo is unknown how do you want to install it.

there where like 2 choices something like i486

shouldnt it install automatically? or is it really not detected?
 
I went from an amd 761 to intel 845D. At first WinXP won't start. I did a clean install and it went fine. I don't know if it makes a difference to Win XP whether it's 845 SDR or DDR. I'm tempted to install the Intel driver.
 
but did you get a screen on a clean boot that said couldnt tell what type of motehrboard or something to that effect?

it runs i just never had that before
