So, if you are still using anything Adobe... you know what to do.

What can you use as an alternative to Flash?

I just reinstalled Windows 10 and left off Flash. Seems like the sites I want to use require Flash.

I just looked up and installed a couple of plug ins like Unity that are suppose to take the place of Flash, but alas they aren't working as planed.

A lot of the dynamic content abilities are within HTML5 natively. Flash is a relic of a time when multimedia was basically only possible through runtimes on the internet. If a website you use requires it, you can enhance security with extensions that require your permission to run (I think this feature was added to Firefox and Chrome a few months back).

The only website (that has a huge user base) that I can think of that still uses flash is Steam's.
They do got some browsers that try to sandbox Flash, and that is a valid alternative.

Time Warner cable's browser apps requires it off the top of my head. There were 2 or 3 others I wanted to use last night that required it. I think one was for GoPro.

Ive read a million articles on why not to use it but none say how to get around it.

Yeah, I have yet to find a good alternative to Adobe Reader and Photoshop.

I don't get how they even manage to have so many exploits in first place, it's not like their software is an internet facing server application, most of it is essentially a reader application. Acrobat, flash etc. Whatever standard that file format is, you write the code to read it, and display it. How is that so hard to do without so many exploits? Seems to me there is some serious terrible management going on at that company for such terrible code to be written.
