8250i recognized as 'ide cdr/rw 4/4/24'?

I have HP 8250i, and the system(both in bios and win98 and ezcd) would only recognize the cdr/cdrw as 'ide-cd r/rw 4/4/24x'. Shouldn't it state as 'CD writer plus 8250i' or something similar?
Is this normal? Does it affect in any way with burning cds?

Not surprising at all it does that... it won't affect in any way with your CD burning... If you can really concern you can install the drivers from HP and see if the name would change... But it is not neccessary for the burner to work properly...

I have the HP 8250i comrade, mine also shows up as IDE-CD R/RW 4x4x24 and it works fine recognized as that. 😛
