8200m Nvidia video

I'm buying a laptop for $500 with HDMI out. It has a 8200m Nvidia Geforce video, 3 GB ram, AMD QL 1.9 GHz processor.

I have a HTPC and rip some movies to H264 Mkv files. I would like to put a few on the notebook and connect to tv in bedroom once in a while to watch movies.

I cant find much info on this GPU, but will I have any issues playing these files? The laptop resolultion is 1366*768, the same as my tv upstairs. I assume with HDMI out it will be ok.

please i need some input ASAP before my opporunity to buy this notebook runs out.

Is that AMD CPU a dual core? I know that my MacBook (see sig) can output 720p onto a 1080p set, so it won't be any problem with your 8200m

The QL is a dual-core, yes... So it should be ok. The 8200m should be able to decode part of the videos for you.

shouldnt be an issue i doubt, im buying it tomorrow, my laptop with the GMA x3100 from Intel can play x264 720p stuff fine, and the 8200m is a better gpu, but still on a value line.

I am going to give my below laptop to my father as his quit and cant afford a new one. Its almost equal in power, but doesnt have HDMI
