I recently aquired a free supermicro 820MB that supports SDRAM. Before i decide to RMA it or wutever I have one question:

Does the 820 chipset allow the ram to be run at 66mhz when the FSB is 100?

Thanks

And does intel replace otehr manufactures MB with the VC820 and RDRAM?

I dunno if Ram and CPU can run at asynchronous freqs with i820 mainboards. AFAIK, Intel was replacing CC820 mainboards with VC820's--as long as they were manufactured by Intel.

Well i plugged in a PII(66FSB) and then my PIII 550E. Realized that there is no support for 66mhz FSB so no old PII's and no Celerons! POS! Won't even run memory at 66mhz when FSB is 100! That means I need new ram if i want to build another cheap comp! dammit!

I hope intel will give me something
