Anyone know the official release date? I checked Intel's site and came up empty-handed

Hey MaxFPS,

I don't know if you need to know the OFFICIAL release date or if you just want to know if its out yet. I don't know the offical, but the 815EP has already been out.

Here are some recommendations... go with either the MSI 815EP Pro or the ASUS CUSL2-C

Did that help at all?

I would appreciate a rating.. I am a new user and I am trying to get away from the junior member status...

815EP is out already. It looks like a great chipset - and its only minor flaw seems to be its 512 MB SDRAM limit.

MSI 815EP Pro-R is what I'm interested and I can not find it anywhere. I've checked pricewatch on only came up with Atacom, called them and they're not carrying it.:(

I wouldn't label that a flaw, rather a limitation seems more appropriate.

Hehe...

Seriously, there are very few people who can actually benefit from like a gig of RAM. 512MB is more than adequate, and plus, the 815EP was not intended to be a server chipset.

another limitation is AGP aperture size which is still limited to 64 MB max. Some cards like the Matrox G4xx cards sometimes need a larger aperture size in order to function correctly!
