815E vs. 815EP??

Hi,

I am kind of out of the Intel loop. Whats the difference between the 815E chipset and the 815EP chipset?? What one is better/faster??

Thank you

"E" = onboard video "EP" = no onboard video.......I believe that is the only difference between the 2.

There are a few differences. they perform very similar though.
the EP does not have support for PPGA Celerons as well. and no on board video, altho onboard sound is optional. I just picked up an Asus CUSL2-C on the i815EP and I love this board! so far very stable and not too many hassles either.
I'd recommend one of the new i815 solutions they seem to be quite good!

There is NO difference in speed or performance. The only difference lies in the lack of onboard i752 video.

Whether or not a motherboard supports the PPGA processors is entirely up to the manufacturer to implement, and has nothing to do with the chipset.
