815E chipset question

How much system memory does the integrated 815E video use by default, and can it be adjusted?

Are adjustments made in display settings or in the BIOS?

Thanks

The settings can be adjusted. There are 2 settings: 1MB or 4MB.

The adjustments are made through the BIOS.

... this is just what it uses for standard VESA VGA modes, i.e. 2D stuff in operating systems that don't have native 815 drivers.

With its native drivers, the 810 and 815 act like an AGP VGA card with 0 (zero) local memory - nothing constantly assigned to the device (unlike every other integrated VGA out there), and everything dynamically borrowed through AGP methods (like all VGAs do when they run out of local memory).

regards, Peter
