8120 FX vs 2500k

I don't want to start a fan war. I notice that almost all the Bulldozer comparisons are 2500k/2600k vs the 8150FX. Does any forum poster own both a 8120FX machine and a 2500k machine? If so your thoughts.

Are you thinking about upgrading your 1100t?

You always get the urge to try a new CPU but from what I read, a smart upgrade would be to wait until the PileDriver is released. I'm just curious about the 8120FX vs the 2500k. Perhaps the 8120FX vs the 1100 Thuban?

what are you curious about? there are plenty of reviews and all of this has been discussed to death.

Well, we already know that the single threaded performance is slower than the 2500k and 1100t. My experience with the 6100 is that Windows overall just feels slower. Maybe not with a standard HDD, but I can definitely see the difference with having SSDs in both systems to compare real life performance.

guskline, I am sure you can agree with me that the 2500k boots and feels faster than your 1100t. Well, if so, you won't feel any bit of a difference with an 4, 6, 8 core FX anything. :\

I have 2 8120 systems and a 1090T system, which is almost a 1100T.

The difference in CPU speed isn't something I even notice, although I've measured the 8120 to use less power during regular activities and bitcoin mining.

If you have installed Microsofts scheduler patches for your 8120, take a run with Process Lasso ProBalance scheduler and see what you can find out, if you're interested. thanks.

Sigh.

If you can sell your 1100t and buy an 8120 for the same price (almost doable), then you'd have the latest and "greatest" and wouldn't have to wonder 🙂

No need to start a flamewar, just avoid BD at all costs.

Way to create a paradox.
Let's not argue, but YOUR OPINION IS SH1T!!!

OP - please look at benchmarks and see how each CPU performs in the tasks that are relevant to you. You won't get any useful advice here, just two groups of people yelling at each other.

Thanks for the info. Clearly the 2500k whips the 8120FX and from the comments it's a wash with the 1100T
