810's sound chip and win98 upgrade.

I have a tekram mobo with 810 chipset and onboard sound chip in the manuel it says it is a "AC97". Anyhow when I went from win 2k(sound works fine) to win98 upgrade version my sound chip is no being set up right in plug in pray. the computer thinks it is a "sound max" and installs the drivers for it..and it doesn't work..
anyhelp??

The AC97 Codec that Tekram uses IS a Sound Max. There is a known bug in the Win98 drivers tho. Download the latest drivers from Tekram and it will fix your problem.
