81.26 drivers restarting my compy?

I just installed the XG beta 81.26 drivers on my computer because I heard they were good. Now everytime I try to play any HL2 based game, possibly any game on steam, it just restarts my computer. It wasn't doing this in the morning when i had the 78.01 drivers.

Yes I installed the drivers correctly.

Is it just the drivers causing this problem?

if everything was fine, and thats all youve done, then id say yes. did you install any other programs recently/after the driver? does it do this with other games?

problem solved, it was the drivers. reinstalled the 78.01 official drivers and its fine.

Do you have a dual-core processor?

BTW, the drivers are beta right now.

After uninstalling the 78.01 drivers, boot into safe mode and run driver cleaner. That will remove ALL the drivers files in the system folder and such. Then boot normally and install the 81.26 drivers. Hopefully it will work for you then

I had EXCACTLY the same problem. Went back to 78.01 and it's fine now. Every single time I would start up a HL2 game (garrys mod, hl2 deathmatch, etc), it would restart.

EDIT: make sure you run driver cleaner.

Well drivers with performance gains like that, are likely to have problems. Make way for missing textures.
