Famous last words... When CD's were released I was like WOW, a friend mentioned DVDs were on the horizon and I thought 'hmm, who needs more than 5GB?'

Let me be a little more specific. Everything I could ever need NOW, could be stored there. ;) With 50GB-100GB Blu-Ray discs coming out, it should eat up 80TB pretty quick. But 80TB should do for now. ;)

Probably some proprietary software/hardware interface.

Since we're talking about big drive space. Anyone have any info on the 70GB RAID Hard Drive Backup at the University of Tubingen that Tom's hardware reviewed in April of 2003?

http://www.tomshardware.com/storage/20030425/

That blew my mind then, and it still wrecks my brain today.

Anyone heard anything about it? Followups, etc?

Guess it's time to upgrade the RAID 5 array. Add three more disks for a 1.75TB array. Or always add another card, although it wouldn't be at 133MHz, only 100MHz, and add another 8 drives for what, 3.5TB. And I don't have to upgrade my case either. hehehehehe. I love this thing.
Tas.

I'm a little worried about the speed...I'm going to guess that this is just a big NAS? Gb isn't going to cut it.
