Hey everyone,

I'm am in charge of the sound for homecoming festivities at my high school. Our theme this year is "Livin' in the 80's". I thought that it would be cool to find some classic 80's songs to play in the background while the royalty is processing to the stage. I am trying to find several minutes of slow, relaxed, music. Stuff that you can walk to, slow beat, etc.

I am calling on the good people of Anandtech to help me with my search. I know many of you out there know some great songs that would be possibilities. Thanks in advance for all your help. It is greatly appreciated.

You have no idea what you are about to unleash on ATOT.

All of us 80's freaks will fill this post with song after song.

You best bet is to check out album compilations of the 80's, like the Time-Life series.
 
Before we do fill this thread with endless lists of music, keep in mind that I am really only looking for slow, slow beat music that can be marched slowly too.

I like "Always Something There to Remind Me", not sure of the band's name. First one that comes to mind. Way too many great 80's songs to definitively pick one as my fave I think, I'd rather list like 10 or 20 that rock.
 
No suggestions, just an observation. Seems strange to me that a high school homecoming in 2004 would have an 80's theme. Most of the kids either weren't born yet or were in diapers.
