80pin SCSI pci card

I recently got my hands on a Maxtor Atlas 15k II 36gb U320 80pin. I was wondering if there was any cheap < $50 80pin pci cards?

You'll need a 68-pin card along with an 80-pin adapter.

I have an LSI U160 SCSI card. It was $40. You can get an adapter for $10-20.

so I would need this card along with this adapter ... is there a 80-pin cable that connects the hd to the adapter you can point me to? or does it directly connect to it?

also, is there a difference between this LSI card and the Adaptec 29160?

Thanks!

You dont want to get that adapter. Get an adapter that is LVD capable. 50 pin interface =/= LVD. The adapter plugs right into the back of the hard drive, no cables required.

Hmm, so something like this?
but it just says LVD-SE on the title... not in the sig..

btw, what is LVD? :😀oes some research::

edit:: I found this one, which should be better right?

I've also got a similar question: I've got an HP 36GB 15K U320 80 pin drive and an HP 146GB 10K U320 80 Pin Drive in my possession right now. The card I've got is an adaptec SCSI II card. Don't think it is U160 even, but it has a 68 pin port on it. Anyway, I cannot get the drives to even spin up in my test rig using one of those adapters. The cards BIOS options are set to send a signal to spin drives, but nothing happens. There is a Green LED on the Drives that comes on when the power button is pressed, but nothing happens past that. Is my SCSI card just too old?
