Has anyone zip tied a 80mm fan on their pci slots of their case? How well will this work? I have a 8800gts that has a WHOLE LOT of hot air venting to the bottom of the case just waiting to be vented. Its so warm in there, I just need a solution.

UPDATE: Here are the pics of my modded case with the two fans I placed. The side 120 is only zip tied on the bottom two holes, but is very sturdy. The rear 80mm fan is tied in with all 4 holes zipped. There is one extra 80mm fan on the top side vent which cant really be seen, but its there.

Bend the little latches that touch the side of the video card mounting thing, you will see..... they press on them pretty hard, so just bend them out a little so they dont push on the card as much and you will be able to close it.

Just use a PCI Slot cooler; like Antec Super Cyclone. It did wonder for my 8800GTX.

Same here saves your slots and is a very viable solution. Hot air from VGA cards especially those using Accelero coolers blows right into the Super Cyclone and is exhausted directly out of the case.

I just built my own PCI slot cooler tonight. I haven't tested it yet because it was pretty late when I finished. I'll upload some pictures tomorrow night.

120mm doesn't fit unless you have a REALLY deep case. My case is already massive and a 120mm won't fit in...at least not ideally.

It seems that a slot cooler (one that exhausts air out the case) would be a little counterproductive. I'm not saying people's results are lies, but there's got to be a better way.

When I turn up both my intake fans to 12v, my 8800GTS temps go down about 10c. That's not to say I have a bad cooling setup, this is in a P150 with an Akasa Amber 92mm full time at 12v and a Panaflo M1BX at about 7v for quiet.

I like the OP's setup, impractical for me though since I've got 2 PCI cards.

I was thinking about setting up a shroud/channel that'll force all the intake air from one of the fans to the 8800 full time, I think that would help a ton so that it's not recirculating it's own hot slough. Then I separated my collarbone...if I can't eat crab legs, I can't play in my computer.
