Dell has them for 124.50-18.76 for the 15% off deal this weekend, and free shipping, total is a little over 105.00 with no rebate to deal with. Is this a good deal? I think so, as I have seen this drive going for 99.00 lately, but only after like 60.00 dollar mail in rebates.

Great drive at a great price if that includes shipping! I have an 80gb WD JB series in my computer right now and I love it. Everything loads at a noticeable difference from my previous 2mb buffer. I just paid $114 shipped for this drive at newegg, but then again it is retail and comes w/ the 3-year warranty. I think I'd rather pay a little extra with a longer warranty if this happens to be OEM.
I thought OEM meant no cable or mounting hardware. The warranty was still 3 years.

Yeah neweggs site says it's OEM but still has 3 year warranty. I am checking the dell site again
By the way, if I find out that this only has a one year warranty and I want to cancel my order through dell, how do i do that. I checked the dell site and it is not listed under order status. How else can i cancel, cause I kinda would prefer to get it from newegg since I want a new CPU as well.
Does anyone know if I can use this on my old ATA/33 system? I need a new HD first before I need a new system and I'd just as soon buy this one and port it over to my computer's next incarnation.
The specs listed under tech specs on the dell site list a 3 year warranty, so should I take that as they are selling it with a 3 year warranty?

You will only receive a bare drive in electostatic packaging. If you need cables, you will have to buy them. Oem are defined correctly in the above post (audscott)...but a better way to think of oem is this...if you own a company which builds computers, and you need large quantities of parts.....buy oem. That is exactly what it is, dell uses WD drives in their prebuilt systems...so they buy large quantities of WD oem drives. It is more cost effective for them to buy thousands of cables and mounting kits from another manufacturer than to purchase thousands of WD retail (sold in retail stores) drives which include cables and mounting kits! OEM=Bulk. They are passing on the lower price to you. If they offer the lesser warranty (1 year) on the drives in the pre built systems...they will not offer the same warranty as the retail drive.

Oh, yeah I forgot to mention the next day shipping. I didn't realize that at first, since it initially subtracted 5.50 for ground, which was fine with me as I am not in a hurry. Then when I went to check out it offer the other free options and I was like, well I may not be in a hurry, but I have no reason to wait either.
Once again confusion between OEM and Bulk packaged rears its ugly head. When most sellers like newegg say OEM, they mean BULK packaged. Bulk packaged is identical to retail, except it doesn't come with software/cables/screws, etc. It still has original warranty, its just in a bag or whatever.
HOWEVER, the true meaning of OEM is that it does NOT have a warranty from manufacture, but instead the company purchasing it. For instance, Dell purchases western digital hard drives in large quantities from WD, and to get a cheaper prices tells WD that dell will handle tech support and replacement. That makes it OEM, no warranty from WD, only a warranty from dell (1 year usually). Unfortunately most online stores mix this term up with bulk package which still has the 3 year warranty.
Once you get your hard drive, check on the WD site, you can put in your serial number and it will tell you if you have warranty from western digital or not.
