Sadly, that's almost half the price I paid for a 3.5" model, that I used to build my first computer, in 2001.

I paid $60 for a 120Gb SATA3 SSD the other day. Junk the laptop and get something newer. :p

You can get a m2 ssd and a m2 to pata adapter.
Cheaper than most pata drives, and a whole lot faster, smaller, and less power.
When my old notebook pata drive goes, I will be doing this.

Yes, I replaced a PATA drive on my old Dell D610 with an 80GB Intel mSATA SSD and an mSATA to PATA adapter.

Total cost was about $45.00, and there is a big speed improvement.

It is interesting, but as replacement remember that the advertised drive is only 4200 rpm.

Might do better from Craigs List
