<< The LA 4137 Compact Flash Adapter is for use in mobile devices running Windows® CE and Pocket PC operating systems. It features two antenna options: integrated antenna or external antenna with connector. The integrated antenna option is a CF+Type II (extended), while the connector version is Type I with an extended form factor. Both are 16-bit and 3.3v and enable users to take advantage of optimum wireless LAN connectivity range and throughput. >>

Maybe, but there will be a bluetooth card for the newer M500 and M505 Palm Pilots, so not all is lost.

Bluetooth is in limbo, and it is a PAN, not LAN. Therefore it doesn't have the range or speeds to compete with 802.11b

Well we can all hope that something like that will come out in the new SD slot that is on the newer Palm's.

Funny, I was thinking "Poor PocketPC users" just a couple of months ago for the same reasons. Check this out. Xircom has an 802.11b module forthcoming for the Visor (due in fall, and it has already been demo'd). However, personally, I probably won't bother with 802.11b for my PDA, at least until it's cheap, since I already have it for my laptop.

oh no!!!! NOT SYMBOL!

RUN! RUN! RUN away as fast as you can!!!!! :p

seriously tho...the company I used to work for used all symbol wireless products....I just want you do know....they filed chapter 11 on 7/9/01 ;)

symbol products suck, they break often and are a pain to deal with. However, their rma policy is rock solid and repairs are quick and painless. just a thought :)

Be interesting to see how long your battery lasts?
Its just that i was considering doing the Dlink 802.11b PCMCIA cards in my server and my Ipaq but have been told to expect miserable battery performance from the Ipaq when doing wireless :(
Please let us all know how you get on with your battery consumption.
Myself am going to wait for a CF 802.11b solution in the hope for better power consumption.
The only way round this maybe to go for the dual PCMCIA sleeve, but i shiver at the cost of doing this - just not worth it IMO :(
<rant>WTF didnt compaq put a small backup battery in the ipaq like casio has done :| </rant>
