802.11b. are there any mac wireless cards?

does anyone know if there are any mac compatible 802.11b wireless cards? i have the linksys wireless router/switch.

Not just sort of. They were the first. There were some extremely expensive Lucent/Orinoco cards available, but no company had built 802.11b into their computers until Apple. The funny thing is, by building the capability into their boxes, they killed the third-party market, so it's not like there are a lot of choices for adding it to older Macs.

If he does have an airport ready machine, it saves a PCI slot.

If you can't use airport, look for a USB adapter. I've heard they get better signals.
