I have a cheap DLink wireless router that also has a 4 port wired switch in it. I can plug a PC into the wired ethernet port and I can ping it a million times and I will never lose a packet. This is what I'd expect however wireless isn't so reliable. I usually have a 2% packet loss and it doesn't matter what kind of card or where in the house I connect from. Is this normal for wireless or should wireless connections have a zero percent loss? The pings are usually <10ms but sometimes tend to spike to 50ms.

I ask this today because there are some good deals on routers and if this is abnormal, I think I should grab on to on of the deals and replace it.
