I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router and a laser printer with an 802.11b NIC. Is it true that a b device on the network will lower the speeds of the g devices? If so, is it only for the period that the b device is sending/receiving data, or is it all the time. Also, how do 802.11g speeds compare to 100-BaseTX ?

Thanks!

It will reduce the overall speed for as long as the 802.11b device is associated with that AP.

FWIW
