800XL or 6800GS?

I usually game on one of my desktops. I purchased a 6600GT (128MB, PCI-E) a few months ago, but I am not happy with the performance. My system is:

Dell 4700
P4/3.0GHz (800MHz bus)
1GB DDR2
6600GT

I was thinking of eBaying the 6600GT and picking up a Radeon 800XL or an nVidia 6800GS -- but I cannot tell which one is the better performer. I know the usual about clock speeds and that the ATI has 4 more pipelines -- but which one will perform better? I can't find any direct comparisons between the two -- I am choosing these 2 because they are in my price range (around $200) -- I just can't justify spending the cash on a 7800 -- plus my PSU would die probably.

Save up for another month and get the 7800GT.

If you don't want to do that, get the 6800GS and overclock it like mad.
