800x600 res games on a non native screen like 17" LCD

Hi all -

I am wondering if there is a way to make a 17" LCD play an 800x600 game such as Diablo II in a window or somthing with black box around it so it doesnt stretch out and look retarded and blocky.

I know it will be smaller but the game is basically unplayable on anything other than a monitor that supports 800x600 natively.

Thanks for any help you guys can offer...a D2 junkie that is tired of switching monitors!!

I know you can edit the shortcut and add stuff like "-height 800 - width 600 -windowed" to the end of the shortcut target. Try it out.

add -w to the target path of a shortcut to D2. Right click on the shortcut and check the properties. It should look like this: "E:\Program Files\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe" -w there are other things you can add to it too but i haven't ever learned them. They are probably out on the interent somewhere

yeah that works - however....the screen doesnt lock the mouse - and playing D2 without the mouse locking into the window is basically impossible.
