Ok my crappy 17" CRT monitor (not being replaced soon) CAN display 1024x768 and 85 Hz, but the text is very blurry and unusable/unreadable.

I am stuck with a dillema now. I can go to 800x600 at a comfotable 85 Hz without any bluriness, or I can go 1024x768 at 75 Hz also no blurriness. At the latter, I can notice just barely a slight flicker. At the former, nothing flickers but theres less room on the screen. I don't know what to do.

What would you do?

anyway, what video card do you have? something old? maye you could get a cheap radeon or matrox card for some nice 2d on that old monitor, for much less than a new monitor :)

1024 for sure.

I can usually *deal* with it as long as the refresh is 70 or higher...mind you I'd rather have 85.

1024 ..... couldnt imagine using less.

75Hz is not that bad.

Well right now I'm running a Geforce 256 (yep thats right a Geforce 1)

I have an 8500LE in the mail. I got it to improve 2D quality and also to improve my gaming performance.
