&800GTX 512 need advice

I have a ATI x1800Xl but ordered a 7800 GTX 512 . its out of stock so I will get it when its in stock. But after seeing this I am not sure since I want the High 3D mark 05 scores I am thinking of cancling my order.

No, I think not. The GTX 512MB is the fastest card available.

Look at it this way, GTX512 is not in stock so it probably wont be coming for a while. If you cancel and wait for benches to be released (end of Nov apparently) then you may very well decide to buy the ASUS TOP card, if not then the GTX512 is still available (and probably in stock).

If you buy the GTX now but want the ASUS TOP later then you're stuck with the GTX unless you can sell/return it...

Since you have an X1800XL I dont think there's any rush to get something faster either 🙂

So my suggestion is wait for benches, then make your decision

Well since thats the only score given I don't no what it does in real world. Do you?

My P4670@4.4 GHz and X1800xl core 625 memory 650 scores 9000+
Its very smooth in all the games I play @ 16x12.
Yes PC mark 05 are very important to me !

You dont know what the cooling is on that OC either. You could be talking an additional $100 for a custom waterblock, or even rediculous LN2 or dry ice cooling that cant be used everyday.

Ya its on air and very hard to understand whats wtitten . But no its not the X1800xt pe its on air but the core is ar 650 and memory is a 675 . I think its so hard to read.

1. The last two times I looked for a 512GTX, they were in stock somewhere. Saturday newegg had two brands till they sold out. Yesterday, I found them at two vendors. Today:

2. Some people don't like nVidia, for whatever their reasons, and would try to mislead you that it will take a long time to buy this card. Not true, it goes in and out of stock at newegg and other etailers, you just have to keep your eyes open.

3. AFAIK the Asus TOP monstrosity is not even released. What I do know about it is the pathetic 3% factory OC in no way justifies it's huge price premium. 25MHz on this card is NOTHING.
Also, as the XT is a hotter card in general and the TOP dumps all air back in case, this will be the hottest one. (unless they're hiding a phase change in that picnic basket they've bolted to it!)

I really only want only fair and honest replies . I read the forums here all the time because I am always screwing something up on my PC. 99% of the time other people have same problems and post . I read them and someone here always seems to give the ans . I am looking for.

I like nvidia ati amd intel and others . So normally I shop and get the best deal I can get for daddy's money. Can you tell me the prices that you kinked to . The price of the card I ordered was $699.

The highest 3Dmark05 score I've got with one card was around 10,890. (@634/1.82) Seems like most of the 512MB GTX's will oc' to 600/1800 out of the box with no problems. I run mine at 621/1.8 24/7 and I haven't had a problem yet. I was less impressed with my 3Dmark05 while running these in SLI...it was around 14.2k or so. Like everyone else says though, 3Dmark is not a game. 😉

I thought that card would O/C better than that on air . What do you think it would get on water. I am water cooled . Do you have any links for a water cooled setup I could compare results to.
This is a big decision for me as I want Good scores in 3dmark 05. . Enter I guess I can go to the orb and see . But that doesn't tell me how there cooled . in or out of the case .
The guy that built my Pc has installed 3 or 4 of the X1800xt cards in pC's like mine but says so far I have the only P4 670 @4.4 ghz.
Before he worked on mine sat. he just did another guys just like mine with A p4660@4.2 GHz X1800Xt Core @ 775 Memory @ 800. Told me that 3DMark 05 score was 12,370. I said he didn't know but mine should hit 13,000+
