OK, this may be a brain fart of a question, but I am curious. If one has a P4 2.8 800FSB CPU, can you put this into a i865 based motherboard? Say the P4PE or P4SDX board that has 533 or 400Mhz and it would still work?

Thanks in advance!

Well, the socket and operating voltage are the same, so you can, but I wouldn't recommend it. Don't hold your breath on running it at the stock speed though. BTW, the P4PE was a i845PE chipset and the P4SDX was a SiS 655 chipset. The i865 chipset was qualified to run at 800MHz (4 * 200MHz)FSB. Peace.
