Hello computer gurus! I'm building myself a new computer, and this is my Newegg wishlist I've put together. Please tell me what you think, and any suggestions and/or critisms, etc. I'd really appreciate it, and thanks in advance :)

Goal: $800 - Ability to play most games and have a stable working pc for the next 3-4 years with upgradability and the ability to overclock should I desire later.

I plan on buying a monitor in a few months.

If you are never going to go Xfire, I would go with this GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DS3L which overclocks well and just a tad cheaper as well. Many people will recommend Gigabyte or Asus as they have a good reputation for overclocking well. Everything looks fine though. Good luck.

There is a combo deal with e8400 and Antec 900 case. There is also a combo deal with the WD640 HD and a OCZ 550W PSU. With those and the DS3L mobo your total would be $684.93, plus an additional $50 in Rebates.

This might be a better choice drive. The 333 model is a nice 3 platter 6 head design. Then again that 640 is a nice drive also. The 333 has a sustain of 115mb...not sure what the 640 does...

Most OCZ is junk.

With that E8400 you're gonna want a good heatsink, spend 50 or 60 on a thermalright TRUE so you can overclock to 4.0 and not worry about temps.

I definitely wouldn't spend $60 on a heatsink if overclocking is a future possibility, especially with the convexity problems Thermalright is having.

Check hot deals, there are some nice heatsinks available for $30 or less that are perfectly capable of overclocking an E8400.

Unlike their memory, OCZ powersupplies are quite nice solid units. There's a 500W model for $30AR at newegg with free shipping. That will handle any single-GPU system you care to build.

Gigabyte EP45-UD3R $100AR
Free shipping makes this about the same price after rebate as the Foxconn you selected. Gigabyte is a much better maker, this board can handle up to 500fsb (several review sites verify this performance) so it won't be the limiting factor in your overclocking.

I think the hsf the others are refering to is the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 ($19AR).

Wrong. Their high-end stuff is very nice. Everything else is the same old mediocre PSU.

"StealthXtream" is not high-end, and therefore not very good. It's the same old Epsilon design with the usual flaws -- ripple etc.

Stick to Corsair or Antec for midrange PSU deals.
