My brother doesn't build his own computers. He just buys them. He's looking for recommendations for the best gaming computer he can buy for about $800-$900. Should have a decent graphics card but no monitor.

Any recommendations? (Other than to start building his own. :-D)

Is he going to overclock? Does he want ATX or mATX? Dual core or quad core CPU? Does he need a mouse and keyboard too? Single GPU or does he want SLI/CF? What monitor resolution is he going to run? Which O/S? 32bit or 64bit? Easier to build a ATX rig for $800 than a mATX one but both can be done. i5 750 rigs are becoming real popular for this type of budgets and they game quite nicely when coupled with a good GPU and overclocked. He'll need to answer these basic questions and others before we can give him more detailed component list.

Edit: Oh, and take the time and read back about 10 or 12 pages at least in this section because this has been asked before by other people within the same price range as you.

If you want to buy a gaming rig there are two basic choices.

1. Buy a Dell (preferably from the outlet and drop in a video card)
2. Buy a PC from a place like CyberPower.

If he needs a monitor that makes a big difference. Without a monitor you can get a decent gaming rig with an i5 from the mid-$800's from CyberPower.

The CyberPower PCs look great and will probably satisfy my brother. If his main interest is gaming (e.g., he's not doing anything else intensive with the box), which processor and graphics card would be best for between $800 and $1000?
