i know im an AMD guy but i looked at the preview just posted and i have to honestly say, im not impressed. i thought it was going to be a really good new design and everything, but it only squeezes out a few more frames than the regular 533. granted, this is just the 2.4, but i still expected more of an improvement jump.

I'd say the gains are quite good (take at look at this chart) considering the SiS 655 chipset isn't at all optimized for 800MHz FSB operation nor DDR400 operation (SiS 655 officially supports no higher than dual DDR333 operation, but motherboard makers have added in dual DDR400 support).

Intel's 865 chipset at 800MHz FSB in dual DDR400 mode should show some noticable gains over the SiS 655 performance results we got at our West Coast Labs, with the 875 performing even better.

EDIT: Also, we had a few stability issues at 800MHz FSB (we used the SiS 655-powered Gigabyte SINXP1394 motherboard), so that might have lowered performance a bit as well. In addition, the benchmarks were run at 2.4GHz, meaning as clock speeds increase well over 3GHz, you may start to see even more performance improvement.

I agree with evan, since its an overclocked mobile processor, the gains shown are reference only.
the performance increases are notable as well.not to mention overclocking may produce even better results as clock speeds increase.

i may be assuming too much here but this would be like getting a 2.4 and matching a 2.53 or even a 2.66 in benchmarks.but then its just speculation until its available.

the more (cpu/fsb/video cards etc...) speeds increase the happier i'll be for future upgrades lol
