Ever heard of that? Sometimes when I boot it says Duron 700 and other times it is 800. I check Wcpuid and it is the multiplier that is changing. The cpu is not overclocked and I have not done the pencil trick on it. The board is an MSI k7t-pro 2a. Any suggestions?

That happened to me when i changed out my HSF and reapllied my AS2. What happened was that i got a little smudge on the L-bridges and i never tried to clean it up. Well the multiplier and my vcore went all whack every boot. So i took of the HSF again, cleaned off the bridges and walla no mo problems.

Redo your L1 bridges. Clean all the AS2 off if you use it. Dish soap/warm water and a soft brush, dry thoroughly, works well. If that doesn't work........

That was my first amd mb, a little flaky with my 600 and 800 durons multipliers too. Check out www.overclockers.com for multiplier problems with the early boards.
