kid had it coming to him, don't punish the animal because she was defending herself.

I got mauled in the face when I was his age, 16 stitches to be exact. The dog had a long history of being teased and i had the balls to take a bone away from him. We had him destroyed, but I regret that now as it was my fault and not his.

WTF possesses children to do stupid crap like that. My kids (both boys) never bothered to do things like this. Maybe it's because They have grown up with animals all their lives (2 and 8 years old). But still, don't people teach their children about animals and what NOT to do to them?

My parents used to breed them, they are not any more vicious than a poodle. It's the way a animal is raised.

Poodles can be fighting dogs too, just they aren't raised for that.

I agree with you on part of that Yayo, I think how the animal is raised will be the major factor in how it turns out. In fact I'm looking at adopting a pit bull terrier or a pit bull terrier mix as they are actually very friendly and family oriented and great with kids. HOWEVER, the problem comes in is when the animals attack. A pit bull will do 10x the damage that a poodle will do simple b/c of the amount of force and the strength that a pit bull attacks with. That and the fact that a pit bull's mouth/teeth are much large and it's jaws are so powerful it can be hard to pry them apart.
