8-Port GB switch "with" wireless ???

Been looking at GB switches. I ran a network cable from one side of the house (plugged into the router) to the other side of the house for connection to a tivo and networked tv.
I was thinking if a switch is made or is available that also would send out a wireless signal, basically extending the wireless network as well for anything they might need wireless. Better coverage and a different SSID name from the main wireless router.
Looking at 8 port GB switches I found none with the combo of wired and wireless broadcasting.

As you can tell, I only know the very basics of networking.

Here's your options for what you want:

1. Add a separate WAP to your 8 port gigabit switch
2. Buy a 4 port wireless router, with ddwrt or something else you can disable the router portion and use it as just a 4 port switch with wireless.

That is way overkill for what he is trying to do. Any router that can run dd-wrt or tomato can do that for a lot cheaper. Buffalo routers come stock with DD-WRT so I would suggest one of those. Then do what kev suggested and turn off the router and have it act as wireless access point (WAP).

Look into unifi APs. They're fairly cheap, one will probably do the whole house unless your house is more than 400 ft wide or long.
